“This Little Light of Mine…

“This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine… “

Ruminating (not that much) about how and what I would pen as a blog neophyte, I’ve been searching for some profound thought, concept, notion, or another.

My propensity for anal procrastination often leaves me in a constant state of paralyzed indecisiveness. Funny enough, upon rising from my couch to visit the loo, I started singing,” This little light of mine…” Have no idea where it came from at the time. It’s a tune that I remember from when I was bribed to go to Sunday school (and actually went).

Since I thought it weird that this tune suddenly came to me, I decided to look for the complete lyrics online. I found a version from Bruce Springsteen — it was ok, but not really.

Re-typing, I found another version on youtube by Odetta.

This version started off very low so I turned up the volume. It began with a spoken track.

The first few words immediately captured my attention.

I have a book of quotes (many of which I’ll share later and elsewhere on this blog).

One my favorites (here’s the profound ;)) is from Marianne Williamson.

It reads, ” Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, NOT our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, FABULOUS? Actually, who are you not to be? …”

Here’s a pic. of  it from my book.

Very freaky so, listening to the universe, this is my first post.
